Unlike cheap thin-plastic mass production, our figurines are made from premium polymer clay (FIMO) – a high-grade material that withstands temperatures from -20 °C to +60 °C. Heat, cold, sun – can the figure handle it?
Polymer clay handles both frost and heat. In peak summer, dashboards in direct sun can exceed 80 °C – which fades colors over time and may loosen base adhesive. Our recommendation: use a windshield sun shade when parking in direct sun – or take the figure out temporarily.
Mounting a bobblehead in the car – safely
So your bobblehead nods happily through every turn but never becomes a projectile, we recommend:
1. Anti-slip pad – A self-adhesive silicone or gel mat under the base holds securely but is removable without residue. Perfect for leased cars. 2. Adhesive dot (double-sided power tape) – Permanent, hard to remove, rock solid. Only if the figure should stay permanently. 3. Magnetic base – For cars with metal dashboard covers. Elegant and invisible. 4. Rearview hanger – Our 5 cm keychain mini variants also work on the rearview mirror – only if they don't obstruct visibility.
Are car bobbleheads legal?
Yes, generally allowed. In Germany (StVZO § 30) the driver's view must not be obstructed – on the dashboard (outside the direct windshield sight line) a bobblehead is no problem. Important: the figure must be securely fixed for emergency braking or accidents. Loose figures on the dashboard are a safety hazard and can be liability-relevant. A well-glued figure (see mounting tips) is on the safe side.
